Happy Mother’s Day! Love, Fido

I adopted Gina when she was a one-year-old and promised her a forever home. She’ll be 12 next month.

She’ll never say, “Happy Mother’s Day Mom, I love you!”

Gina’s a dog.

Mother’s Day is not the easiest of holidays for me. I have no human children.

Gina won’t be bringing me breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day. There’s no graduation from high school, leaving for college, or becoming an empty nester.

She gets room and board with medical and dental for life. I’m her caretaker…
